Using Hydraulic Excavators in the Construction Industry

The hydraulic construction excavator was first built in 1882 and since then, the technology for this heavy construction equipment has improved tremendously. Today, a tracked excavator has a long reach while staying in one place. An added advantage is it can even work easily in a narrow space since the housing can swing the boom a full 360 degrees, providing flexibility and precision for the operator.

Best uses of construction excavators

Since hydraulic excavators have larger digging force than other construction machines, they are ideally used for digging ditches, holes and foundations. The mining industry typically makes use of this equipment, especially at open-pit sites. The filled bucket can then assist in removing all sorts of materials on a site to waiting dump trucks. This versatility makes them particularly popular across construction, mining and forestry operations.

Construction excavators are efficient and economical

Since the excavator remains in one place while working, the undercarriage is not worn much due to a lower direct exposure with solid objects, generally allowing a longer life span. The work equipment and attachments on construction excavators should undergo routine maintenance checks on a pre-determined schedule eg daily, weekly, every six months and every two years. That way, replacement of parts may be planned for, thus preventing minimum downtime.
